Technical Committee
The Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG) is committed to the sustainable development and strategic management of Africa’s mineral wealth. To ensure that our objectives are met with the highest standards of technical expertise and innovation, AMSG has established the Technical Committee-a specialized body designed to provide expert guidance and technical support to the Ministerial Steering Committee (Article 4.4 of the AMSG Establishment Charter).

About AMSG Steering Committee
The AMSG Technical Committee plays a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of AMSG’s initiatives. This committee is tasked with providing the necessary knowledge, insights, and resources to support the implementation of AMSG’s goals. With its strong focus on research, technological development, and sustainable practices, the Technical Committee ensures that Africa’s mineral sector evolves in a way that meets the demands of both the present and the future.
Composition of the Technical Committee
For the first Technical Committee, each founding member nation will appoint two representatives. These representatives will bring their national expertise, knowledge of regional mineral resources, and insights into the challenges and opportunities within their respective countries’ mining sectors. With a diverse mix of technical skills and regional perspectives, the inaugural Technical Committee will be well-equipped to provide strategic, actionable recommendations to the Ministerial Steering Committee.The appointment of two representatives from each founding nation ensures a balance of expertise across key areas such as resource exploration, mining technology, sustainability practices, and local beneficiation. The members will work together to identify best practices, research developments, and innovative solutions that can be scaled across the continent to drive Africa’s mining sector forward.
