About the AMSG Ministerial Steering Commitee
The AMSG Steering Committee plays a crucial role in shaping AMSG’s strategic direction, setting priorities, and overseeing the implementation of key initiatives. By bringing together the most influential policymakers in the mining and minerals sectors across Africa, the committee ensures that AMSG’s efforts are aligned with the collective goals of the continent and that Africa remains at the forefront of the global energy transition.
First Steering Committee: Founding Member Nations
The first Steering Committee of AMSG will be composed of Ministers from the founding member nations. These nations, as early supporters of AMSG’s mission, will become permanent members of the Steering Committee, providing consistent leadership and fostering long-term commitment to the group’s objectives. This initial composition reflects the collaborative nature of AMSG and emphasizes the importance of unity and shared vision in achieving sustainable and transformative outcomes for Africa’s mining sector.
The founding members-representing diverse regions of the continent-will guide the group in navigating challenges, capitalizing on opportunities, and implementing effective strategies for harnessing Africa’s mineral wealth. Together, these leaders will collaborate on critical issues such as resource governance, local beneficiation, investment strategies, and technological innovation to ensure that Africa remains a key player in the global minerals economy.
A Visionary and Dynamic Leadership
With the Steering Committee at the helm, AMSG will continue to foster cooperation, inspire innovation, and drive Africa’s sustainable development in the critical minerals sector. This leadership body will provide the strategic oversight necessary for effective decision-making, resource mobilization, and the creation of policies that benefit the entire continent.
The AMSG Ministerial Steering Committee is committed to advancing Africa’s strategic interests in minerals and mining, promoting economic development, industrialization, job creation, and technological advancement across the continent.
A Call for Continued Leadership and Engagement
As AMSG grows, new members and partners will join the Ministerial Steering Committee, ensuring that the group remains dynamic, adaptable, and representative of the broader interests of Africa’s mineral-rich nations. The active participation of member states in this leadership body will continue to be pivotal in achieving the group’s vision of transforming Africa’s mineral sector into a key pillar of economic prosperity and global sustainability.
